“I’ve spent a lifetime chasing language, culture, and dessert—curiosity first, crème brûlée second.”

Sip and Sup, Stay and Spa.
See, Shop, and Sail.

That’s the short list of my favored activities.

Over the years, I’ve written more than a hundred travel and lifestyle features for publications like The New York Times, Luxury Travel Advisor, Gotham, and the Michelin Guide. My stories focus on the pleasures of place—where to stay, what to eat, how to unwind, and why it matters.

I studied at the Sorbonne, taught French and Spanish for three decades, and have returned to France more times than I can count—on assignment, for inspiration, or to indulge my lifelong love of the language, the culture, and the crème brûlée.

My upcoming memoir, Forays in France, is a deeply personal collection of stories from my time abroad—a love letter to the country that has shaped many of my travels and a significant part of my life.

From sailing with my late husband on assignment to spa stays in Bangkok, I believe travel should elevate your senses, expand your perspective, and, when possible, include room service.
